SAIF sadly reports the deaths of members and key figures from within the funeral profession in 2024/2025. We pass on our condolences to family and friends of those listed here.
- 7th January 2025: It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Arthur Jardine, 4th generation of Jardine Funeral Directors, Dumfries.
- 1st January 2025: It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Derek Noble of Nobles Funeral Service, Hartlepool. The funeral service is take place at St James the Apostle, Hartlepool on Monday 13th January at 10.15am prior to interment at Stranton Cemetery.
- 11th November: it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Hall of DJ Hall of Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Enquiries to D.J Hall Funeral Directors, 62, King St, Southwell, Notts. NG25 0EN.
- 29th November: it is with great sadness that we report the passing of Miles Morton. Miles and his brother Grant were grandsons of Albert Morton who founded Morton Funerals of Northfield, Birmingham. Funeral information may be found here.
- 28th September: it is with great sadness that we report the death of Trevor Eley Whitmore Hickton of Hickton Family Funeral Directors in Cradley Heath, West Midlands. Mr Hickton passed peacefully away at home, surrounded by his beloved children and his loving sister, after a long and private battle with cancer. The funeral will be held on Saturday 12th October. The funeral cortege will leave the funeral home from Lower High Street at 10:30am to proceed up Cradley Heath High Street for all to pay their respects and then to Rowley Regis Crematorium B65 0AD for the service to begin at 11:00 am. The celebration of Trevor’s life will follow after the service, details will be announced during the service. All who knew Trevor are welcome to the funeral and celebration of his life. No flowers by request. Donations to be accepted for The Dogs Trust and The Donkey Sanctuary. A condolence book is currently open at the funeral home in Cradley Heath, should anyone wish to leave a message or memory. “Now life’s work is done, cometh the rest”.
